ABOUT

The Harpur Harpeggios, fondly known as "The Pegs", comprise the only all-female a cappella group at Binghamton University in Vestal, New York.  The Pegs typically consists of ten to fifteen members and meets to rehearse for at least seven hours a week, a labor of love which culminates ultimately in each Semester's official Show.  In addition to this performance, the group appears at various gigs throughout each Semester and away from the University at the many stops on their yearly tour during Winter Recess.

The Pegs formed in 1983, spawned by one visionary member of the Harpur Chorale, and have since grown even to compete Internationally; the group has attended three ICCA (International Competition for Collegiate A Cappella Championships) tournaments so far.  In 2005, the group placed third in the Semifinals at Yale University, and have otherwise been recognized with awards such as Best Choreography (2001), Biggest Ham (Sarah Williams, 2003), Best Soloist (Theresa Lee, My Immortal, 2005), and Outstanding Arrangement (Sarah Williams, Frozen, 2005), among others.  Doubtless more recognition is in the future for this ambitious and hardworking troupe of girls.
